
Youth Fire Academy

Fort Worth Fire Department, Community Relations
Division, will offer two Youth Fire academies in 2005. This free training
program consists of both classroom and practical instruction. Instruction
is comprehensive and highlights the different areas of the Fire
Department. Topics include: the firefighter selection process and training
station, Fire Safety Education, the Fire Alarm Office and Supply, Marine
Rescue, Prevention and Code Enforcement, Office of Emergency Management,
Fire Investigation, Airport/Aircraft Rescue, HazMat and a course in CPR.
Classes will be held June and July at the Fire & Police Training Center, 1000 Calvert St (near the intersection of Henderson Street and White Settlement Road). Classes are available to youth entering 9th thru 12th grade that reside in the city of Fort Worth. Each class is limited to 20 participants. All participants must return a waiver of liability signed by a parent or guardian prior to start of class. Participants will be transported to stations and other field trip sights by Fire Department vans.
