The Inferno was formed in December of 2000 to participate in league play as well as
various charity events. On December 17, 2000, the team played their first game against the Fort Worth Police Department team, the Panthers. The event was designated as the first annual "Face-off For Food" charity hockey game. The Inferno won the game, which raised over 1600lbs. of canned food items for the Tarrant County Food Bank, by a score of 7-5.
