                            Minimum Standards

 

In order to be accepted in to a Entry Level position with the

City of Fort Worth Fire Department applicants must meet a

specific criteria set forth for all City of Fort Worth employees.

This is a basic overview of minimum standards ask of any

applicant for firefighter.

 

1). Age:

     a). At least 18 years of by the time of entrance examination.

     b). A person may not be certified as eligible for a beginning

position in a fire department if the person is 36 years of age or

older.

2). Education:

    a). High school diploma

    b). G.E.D. equivalent

    c). 12 semester credit hours from an accredited college or

university.

    Any of the above are acceptable

3). Driving History:

    a). Must have valid driver’s license and be able to obtain

Texas Class “B” license.

    b). No more than three hazardous moving violations in last

two years (24 months).

    c). No license suspensions in last two years (24 months).

4). Criminal History:

    a). No felony conviction at all

    b). No conviction for offense above Class “C” misdemeanor in

the last five years.
